First Go With My New .375 And Peregrine Bulletsbullets

Finally managed to get some rounds loaded and go to the range today. This is my first time shooting a .375

Browning A-bolt .375 H&H LH, Sightron S-tac 2-10x32 scope, steel rings and bases, bedded and free floated synthetic stock with limbsaver recoil pad. Muzzle brake and irons will come off once the suppressor in built and ATF does their thing.

I decided on the Peregrine 230 plainsmaster bullets. This loading was a reduced load using 45gr of accurate 5744 which should give me about 2200-2300fps with these bullets. This is the load I will be using for whitetail deer here in Maine. After getting it basically sighted in at 50yds, this was my first group at 100yds

1.1"group standing with a rest. This was not shot from a bench as deer season starts next week and I only wanted to make sure it was good to go for hunting at this point. I think it is safe to say the peregrines work and this gun is a shooter! Load development for deer season complete! Just had to tweak it left and up a bit and good to go. (I sight in an inch high at 100 usually, so these should have been centered on the top of the head) Pretty darn happy with my fifty dollar rifle!

No filler. 5744 is designed for reduced loads. Fairly bulky, it fills about 2/3 of the space behind the bullet when loaded. Use mag primers and never have a worry. Shot 16 rds in total without a hiccup

I bought a new to me .375 H&H this year as well that will be tested out on the slightly smaller Texas whitetail ... and the occasional feral hog ... here in a couple of weeks. I have never had any interest in loading ... I might be motivated to try after I see the your results!

Loading the .375 is very easy, and with the Peregrine bullets now available in the U.S. it makes sense to load light for the smaller animals in N. America, so you can use the .375 all the time! IMO the Peregrine is the best light bullet for the .375 as its designed to expand from 3400fps. down to 1600fps and when loaded hot it's darn flat trejectory out to 400yds. Plus loading your own is a lot cheaper than buying factory ammo.

In all seriousness, from a 375 H&H the accuracy is as good as you could want I would think...It will be a deadly combo on whitetail for sure...

Yeah, it was the first target I grabbed and immediately thought of the movie dodgeball- if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. Hunting version- if you can hit a turkey in the head at 100yds you can sure as shit hit a deer! Now I just need to find a place to legally hunt turkey with a rifle!

Yes it was Charlie! I love this rifle. May not be the timeless beauty of a classic African rifle, but it's gonna get the job done, no problem!

That would be cool. Always liked wyoming, almost moved there once. Low hit would surely ruin the whole thing but the puff of feathers would be like exploding targets without the noise!

.375 H&H is such a great round to handload for! I love loading a 270 to about 2750. Shoots great and doesn't kick that hard. Just curious? Whats up with the propane torch burner at the end of the barrel?

Factory BOSS unit- hate it. Coming off as soon as I can get the suppressor. I like the ability to hear!
