Father & son first trip to africa

Cull/management hunts are a good option to get the most shooting for your $. If you want to add a trophy or two, some may be included depending on who you book with or the deal you make. Similarly, if you want them, be sure to ask if you can keep some or all of the horns, skulls or hides. European mounts with no skins would be a fairly inexpensive taxidermy bill (really only the dip/pack services and shipping).

Check out the deals & offers section as well for many great options of packages that are quite reasonable. You can also hunt 2x1 if you want to spend more time together and cut a little more cost.

Lots of great advice from the others so far, and I'm sure more to come. Whatever you choose, we'd like to see some pictures and a recap. I'm sure you'll have a great time if you plan it well.

I sure do really appreciate all the responses and help here , its given me a much better plan than just googling an outfit and crossing my fingers... what's a good time of year to go to southern africa or south east africa ?

Late May and June is the kudu rut. July and August are still cool, dry winter months. Beautiful hunting weather! If you want to get even more detailed oriented, consult a lunar calendar and pick a week with little to no moon.

As has been said, July and August are the winter months. As such, the grass and brush are dry and noisy. Bowhunters usually prefer those months because the game is more dependent on water holes. Firearms hunters often prefer April thru June because it is still somewhat green and stalking is quieter.

Here's the target for the NorthForks - 25yds off a bag, iron sights. Hunting leopards over dogs the range won't be more than that.

Flew in an airshow in Smyrna years ago, beautiful country.

Best regards,

Franco
