Why? Is this whole forum not about hunting in Africa? This was meant as a condolences thread. Not a Trump bashing thread or a Bush bashing thread. I say again, if someone wants to bash Trump or bash this Bush, who I did not always agree with and voted against on his bid for re election,, then please start another thread. Its quite evident that he was a fine man, not a perfect one and in my view a mediocre president, but going back 20 years or more to dredge up old history or bash the current CIC, is not appropriate here.

As a President, he had his ups and downs. I've had my ups and downs.

He was my CIC while I served and he sent me off to war. I'll forgive him as I had a relatively easy assignment...

His service through his lifetime to this country is amazing to me.

May God bless him, I can't see it any other way.

Could someone explain to me why he (George Sr.) was pro New World Order and pro U.S.A.?, seems contradictory. I think Trump seems very pro U.S.A. but is not a globalist. The media loved George Sr. and seems to hate Trump. I don't understand.

George seniors vision saw a peaceful prosperous world as being good for the US. He believed in the traditional the American ideal of holding the higher moral ground and helping the underdog. He carried himself with dignity and he was not a blatant liar.

If you haven't read 41 it is an excellent book. Also, the book "In the Presidents Secret Service" has some good stories (and some not so flattering ones about other Presidents). From reading, and speaking with people who have spent time with him, he seems like a very genuine man. I have seen GHWB at countless sporting events in Houston and you could tell he loved every minute of it.
