Elk Taxidermy First snow in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains

The client took this bull west of Trinidad in the Sangre De Cristo’s
The elk has removable antlers and is removable from the base for easy of movement. The base is one of my hand built bases and is made of solid Cherry wood.

I was supposed to go bear hunting next month up there. I canceled the trip so I could get more work done prior to leaving for Brazil.
It’s a good area to hunt and I have hunted up there many times. Public land can get really crowded though during rifle seasons early bear season being the exception. There is a ton of game around there though.

Good deal, you should do well. Elk numbers are very strong.
Yessir, I’ll be in Brazil later part of October. Kelly and crew will still be and the studio holding down the fort while I’m gone.
