Slight side track but I love these old safari pictures. I would love to be able to convert some of mine to look like this.

I hope you find the information your looking for.

Foxi, have a look on FB. I think Peter has a page.

Thank you for sharing!

Foxi,

Another neat post. Thanks.

If you google the two ph's names along with the word Kenya, you get some interesting information. Not sure if it is the same people or not.

All the best.

The large elephant Isilo that lived in Tembe Game Reserve in northern KawZuluNatal, South Africa has been mentioned in previous posts on this thread. This huge animal was reported by the park authority to have been found dead in early 2014 and assessed to have died of natural causes but the tusks disappeared. Recently a large police bust of a poaching base in a house in Matola near Maputo in Mozambique uncovered a significant haul of rhino and ivory amongst which it was rumoured that Isilo's huge tusks were also found during that bust haul. This has tragically proven to NOT be the case. The whereabouts of those tusks remains unaccounted for!

I will try and upload a photo file of this animal taken in December 2013 not long before the old elephant died

Much appreciate the information John and looking forward to seeing some pictures of Isilo.

Isilo died a short while after this photo was taken by the Demers family on a trip to Tembe between Xmas and New year of 2013 so is a valuable record of this gentle giant who was very accustomed to being near people.

Sadly the whereabouts of Isilo's huge tusks has not been established as far as I know.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
