Drew the Kodiak mountain goat tag

I've been 100% every time I've gone and the weather is no worse than the drawing units. The bad weather comes from the east, so you generally get more huntable days the further west you go. In my experience, the number one factor on a Kodiak hunt for any species is the number of huntable days. There are plenty of accessible areas in 480, but there are also plenty of inaccessible areas which is the reason for the long, liberal season.

@Tundra Tiger I'll send you a few pin drops.

Throw some Yaktrax or similar lightweight boot crampon in your pack. They work great on wet grass, snow and ice View attachment 554030View attachment 554031View attachment 554031
Even though I’ve never had to use metal traction devices on my boots for hunting / fishing on Kodiak or any Alaska island environment, I have always brought a pair in my kit, just in case.
Much like carrying a pistol in name-your-city ~ “Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it”.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
