Double Rifle Movie India

Not exactly the same (but it's Real!)...'Have a B&W VHS video of Fred Bear staying at a palace and hunting with one of the Maharaja's, bagging a Tiger, Nilgai, Axis Deer, and an Asian Gazelle, all with his recurve bow of course. Some by Elephant-back! Great stuff! I'll probably copy and sell the entire series I bought long ago from an infamous outdoors store that was essentially put out of business by the coming of the big box store(s). 'Have another with he hunting elephant and buffalo with Wally Johnson and another from Robert Ruark hunting with Harry Selby-all in the 1950s!

Thanks for Sharing! 'Watched it straight away. Very entertaining, and I'd bet it was inspired by the real adventures mentioned above, but inspired other movies that marched back (or forth) to wartime to fully paint the picture...

Thanks for posting, had some time last night and watched it. Enjoyed it.

@Major Khan Sir and Kawshik Rahman actually introduced me to this film . It is quite the cinematic masterpiece . Stewart Granger used a .500/465 Nitro Express ( built by James Purdey ) in the film . The character , Desmond uses another double rifle - a .375 Holland & Holland Flanged Magnum , which was built by Manton & Co. in Calcutta .

There is one piece of cinematic sensationalization , however . The scene where the Royal Bengal tiger attacks Stewart Granger and simply leaps off after swiping him with his claws just once , would never have occurred in real life . Once a Royal Bengal tiger begins to mangle a victim , it shall not cease until :
A ) The victim is dead .
B ) The animal has been shot to death .

Thanks for the link, just watched it, I believe that I saw that many years ago.
