My .405 Winchester double rifle is back from gunsmith, completely revisited, and barrels now with regulation device. One can see the last steps of regulation. Two double shots,... left barrel two times low, right barrel two times high, than regulation, last picture, .... now waiting for open season!

Very nicely done and effective.
So when the season opens what will you hunt with this rifle?

It should be excellent on driven boar.
We recently shot a few at the Boars Nest and I was fortunate no kill three. We now have a fresh supply of breakfast sausage and pork tenderloin.:)

When you and Az Dave are ready, we can still set up that .405 double hunt here in Texas.

Dear crs,...... I live and hunt in the mountains of Austria. Unfortunately, my .405 is not a mountain rifle. In autumn, I am going to get for pig hunting in Bavaria. But the rifle told me, .....Africa is much better.....and Texas is ok also !!!

Beautiful country there. My wife and I vacationed in a ski town a few years ago and took a glacier tour in a little bus - roads I would not enjoyed driving!
Since then, we have been on glaciers in Canada and Alaska and last vacation, we just viewed them from the cruise ship. That was close enough for me.

Spectacular! We were there in the summer.
I will look for the disk with pix on it to see the name of the town where we stayed and the castle on a mountain top where we saw an exhibition of birds of prey.

That is the castle! Fantastic scenery and a great history story also.

What part of Austria are you in? I spent 7 years in germany when I was in the service, and hiked in Austria i the summer and skied there in the winter.

I LOCATED AND VIEWED THE 93 SLIDEs
from our 2003 vacation. We stayed in the Alpenland Sport Hotel in St Johann. Nice and quiet place in the summer. We saw an authentic Farmers Wedding parade while having brunch in a sidewalk cafe.
In addition to auto touring, we visited Saltzburg and the glacier and the castle; some cool pix with my Minolta SLR and telephoto lenses.
Our Power Point slide show is only 6.4 meg and I would be happy to post it if I knew how.

I live near the City of Salzburg, about 30 miles away.... this is where I earn my money. But I come from Germany, from a little village, close to Grafenwöhr....

Thank you for the picture!(y) brings back memories and smiles

Interesting way to carry a couple extra rounds. Cleaner than the classic bullet trap. Wonder about the stability of the recoil pad? Does it ever move up or sideways under recoil?

I have this on some rifles and never had a problem.

Tight fit is adjustable...

Its a little bit tricky, that cartridges do not stuck under recoil, but you can manage this with a little roam under the bullet.

But not a problem with a rimmed case.

The spaces for the cartridges have to be cut exactly, so that the cartridges do not rattle.

Very clever. Can you explain hoe the butt plate release works?

The recoil pad is siply shift to the lace side...

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
