What sort of cleaning kits are folks putting together for their double rifles?

So a follow up question here, I found some double rifle jags and brushes, but the sizes are limited and I am wondering if the 450NE jags and brushes be used in a 450-400NE without issue or is it best to drop down to the 400/.416 size, thanks!

I would drop down to the correct caliber/size.

Trader Keith has the real stuff.....

Word to the wise though, you probably shouldn't be cleaning the bores all the much.

When I got my .470 it was shooting excellent groups, but the front sight was a horrible home made contraption that needed to be replaced; before starting the process of figuring out the proper front sight height I cleaned the bore with solvent and bronze brush.....

The groups opened way up and it took 10rnds per barrel before accuracy returned; so now I just swab the bores on occasion with Balistol.

To answer your question though, when I took my .470 to Zim I brought a bronze cleaning rod with jag and 10 Balistol wipes.

Thank you, this is really helpful!

Actually, I take back my "this is very helpful" because I just looked at Trader Keiths website for the first time and I get the feeling I am going to spend a lot more money than I would have prior to my knowing about it! A lot of cool and useful items!

If you dont have space for a standard kit, a "bore snake" would be useful in a pinch.
Never a fan of Bore Snakes ... As your dragging yesterdays dirt through your rifle bores
...If.... you are shooting a 450-400 the bore size is .410 10mm or 41 mag jag is what you are looking for

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
