Disneyland Jungle Cruise

I recall taking this ride at Disneyland back in the mid-50s to early 60s. Part of the ride involved some Hippos charging to boat and the driver(sailor?) shooting one of them with a revolver. I haven't been to Disneyland in several decades and considering the liberal focus of all-things Disney, while I see the Jungle Cruise is still listed as one of the rides, does it still involve the driver shooting the Hippo?

It did back in the 1990s which was the last time I went.

I seriously doubt in todays world that the driver still shoots the hippo, but who knows we may all be surprised.

It never happened when I went on it a couple years ago.

I don't recall it on my trips to Disneyland recently. Bambi's mom was still shot by a hunter though. Maybe they will just re-script it to make the boat captain a villain?

Last time I was there it was an older guy who "drove" the boat. He did it if I remember correctly last May. I know they did it 20 years ago when I went as a kid.
