I am turning into a product scavenger and seem to push the “buy it now” button as quickly as I can now.

I am getting to the point of just buying multiples whenever I like something (even when I don't need mutiples).

Many products that I buy are being discontinued and it is REALLY frustrating.

For example, over just the last four-five weeks I have discovered that all the following products are no longer available:

1. Kynoch Snap Caps (per Trader Keith)
2. Alliant Reloder powders (per Gun Stop)
3. S. W. Silver & Co. recoil pads (per Foxtrot)
4. Swarovski Z8i 1-8x24 30mm tube scopes with L4AIF reticle (per Swarovski rep).

Sadly, our slice of the hunting/shooting market must really be small and shrinking.

I’m the same way with Leupold scopes that don’t have the silly adjustable turrets! I think I have eight or so sitting in the shelf lol

You were smart to buy as many as you and your bloodline may need! It seems to be the only way these days.

When we were at MN SCI a few weeks ago @rookhawk almost ordered 1,500 Swaro ee scopes!!

I guess I’m actually up to 11 on the shelf now lol

Nice storage.

I have the same frustrations. There are less and less options for dangerous game rifles, but I also just spent $1200 on a discontinued used rifle that was only a couple hundred dollars new. All because I wanted a wood stock and blued 223 without plastic. I’m also hoarding non-CDS Leupold scopes. 10-20 years ago the market seemed to cater what I wanted. Now it’s going a very different direction.

I have several more custom Pre-64s to build that I want in my collection and I’ll be damn’d if I’ll desecrate them with a CDS scope! And the worst part about it is that the VX-3i/VX-5/6 scopes are identical in optics, build, erectors as their HD counterparts but without the silly adjustable turrets? How can Leupold still not offer both options?

Yes, and the perfect hair product I use is discontinued! Can only find it at secondary sellers for 5x the price for now. Soon it will be unobtainable! :(

I guess I don’t get all of the dislike for Leupold CDS scopes, I buy them and just ignore the CDS function. Sight in the scope and use as always and ignore the dialing on the turret???

Gloss scopes
On this last point, look at the Leica Fortis glossy line that is currently available for sale for one of our sponsors, @EuroOptic. I believe they posted about it today: "Leica Fortis GLOSSY - EXCLUSIVE FIRST CHANCE OFFERING"

I handled a couple at SCI this year and they were really nice!

Jeans without spandex!

Owning a farm, don’t get me started. Diesel equipment without computers and emission controls that decrease horsepower for astronomically more money.

Gloss scopes
I’m sure with you on the jeans and farm equipment.
I hate the stretch blue jeans, HATE them!
I’m about to the point that I use something, nearly anything, I want a years supply.
A couple years ago we could barely find engine oil. Truck tires, belts, bearings, etc.
The one thing I would love to bring back into production is the old Firestone Destination MT, the only tires I’ve ever been able to get more that 35,000 miles. (80% gravel roads)

When you have no intention of ever using it it’s just a feature that can break. I just want a tough functional scope. Sight it in, screw a cap over it, and forget it . . . I also might just hate the look of it too.

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!
