I recently recieved a PM from a guy asking me to post this for him. This guy lives in pangola and only backs up the dirk terblanche saga even more. If more people are out there please speak up as I have looked and looked and cannot find record of Dirk terblanche having and ph licensing in South Africa. If I am wrong please let me know. As for future hunters I believe they have the right to know who they are dealing with. I will definitely be looking for dirk at the sci las vegas show this year.

tap i am a south african and live in pongola, everything you heard about dirk tereblanche is true hi is the biggest lier and thief imaginable, he is not a ph, nor a outfitter.
to clarify: for a non south african citizen to hunt in south africa he must be accompanied by a ph. a ph can not get clients, he works for an outfitter. an outfitter must get the clients and the ph accompanies them.
so any hunts done in south africa without working through a outfitter would be illegal and to get throphys back out of the country would be very difficult.
if you can repost this in the forum i would appreciate it because pongola is a small town and i would like to stay annon.

Tap, What are going to do when you find this guy, beat him up? Confront him, whats the point? If he is doing something illegal, notify the proper authorities. Doing anything else is foolish.

Hmmmmm, haven't thought that far ahead. I guess that all depends on my mood. If I'm not too high on steroids I wont beat him up. However, if I've been smoking too much crack i might shoot him. then again, I might be drunk in which case I would probably be a little lovable so I might invite him back to my room. but seeings as its going to be las vegas I might be high, and drunk, and smoking crack in which case I will have beat him up, love him, and take him back to my room to share with all my hookers before I kill him.

Dirk Terblanche is a professional conman...I guess what pisses me off the most is that he isn't in prison for life. Sometimes RSA lets these guys off with a slap on the hand. I wouldn't be so kind! I don't mind if tap has some anger over his last trip...I would too.

I understand the anger too of course. I just think its silly to make statements on a forum about what how you are going to be "looking for someone at SCI". It sounds threatening and thats not a good idea. While I would certainly stay away from this guy too based on what I have read here, all thats really been offered is allegations. To my knowledge Dirk has not been convicted of a crime nor charged with one, yet. He probably will in time and if guilty I hope they deal with him appropriately.

Yep, understand your frustration too sestoppelman, tap has a unique way of replying...I brush it off fast...since it's a forum and he posts a lot of excellent pictures, having worked with one big liar myself in Africa...I have let the anger go slowly over the last two years....but do I wish he was is jail....YEP. RSA laws are definitely not US laws. But I believe Dirk is a crook to the core.

In today's age of travel "do not fly zone" simple statements on a internet forum could land you on the no fly list...

i was a the airport recently (last year - Seattle) and a couple a little older than my self had purchased airline travel tickets through a travel agent to take a vacation to some country and when they went to check in they were notified that there name was on the do not fly roster...they were Vietnam war protesters from the 60's...no criminal record...just protesters...

On top of that making threats could land you in a lot of legal issues in a foreign country....boy no that could rune a good safari...

I will be looking for Dirk at shows as well. However I think I will also look for the nearest South African and ask them to point Mt toward Nature Conservation. They send reps to all of the major shows. However I highly doubt he will be at any major shows. I know of a former client who sent info to all of the majors and gave them a heads up regarding Dirk. I would suggest that if any if you spot him at a show, please notify show management and let them know who he is and that he is not licensed.
