Dire Wolves brought back from extinction

Need to reintroduce the mega fauna they used to prey on.

The main issue I have with their idea on woolly mammoth was the plan to delete the gene to grow tusks. Apparently in an effort to prevent future poaching and “hunting”

Well looks like someone may be going to jail, crossing genes or such, oh wait these were {scientist} not a rancher in Montana. crossing sheep. Colossal bioscience ,engineers . hope they release them back east, way back, say New Jersey,
KILLEM all before they put them on the books! spoken from a ranchers prespective.

Maybe if we reintroduced them in NYC, Boston, Chicago and LA we could save the ecosystem just like wolves supposedly saved Yellowstone from the elk! Bunch of BS that was just shown to be BS.

Beat me to it. That was exactly my first thought.

Re-engineering large predators or any of the fawns from that era, not a good idea. Nature wanted them extinct, it should be left alone. What’s next, the great saber tooth cat introduced into the Rockies. Ya, great idea.

Look it up on X, Time Magazine, YouTube or today’s. Joe Rogan. View attachment 677249

From the Dallas-based biotech company:

“We’re Colossal Biosciences, the de-extinction company responsible for bringing back the first animals from extinction. Our dire wolf pups, Romulus and Remus, were born on October 1, 2024. Watch these pups grow up on our YouTube channel. Link in bio.

These two wolves were returned from extinction using genetic edits derived from a complete dire wolf genome, meticulously reconstructed from ancient DNA found in fossils dating back 11,500 and 72,000 years. This achievement is the result of years of pioneering science, tireless innovation, and unwavering dedication.

It marks a major milestone not only for our company, but for science, conservation, and humanity. With the birth of Romulus and Remus, de-extinction is no longer theory—it’s reality. There’s more work ahead, but this moment redefines what’s possible for the planet’s future.”
@Roland Robinson: well if you’re using JOE ROGAN to verify this, how could anyone have doubts?? Also, I think I might be 1% Wolf…on my Father’s side !
It is interesting but not as much as the discovery of King Kong or Big Foot.

If the Dire wolf was reintroduced in these cities, then would they be in Dire Straits?

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
