I blame all the AH members for this lol. My new (used) Ruger 1-H in 375 H&H. Alaska Arms QD rings with a Meopta 1x6x24 scope. I figured if I bought it I would have to return to Africa and use it. Apparently one trip is all it takes lol. I plan on using it this fall to whack a deer or two. My friend Mark told his wife it wouldn’t be more than 2 weeks after we returned from our South Africa hunt before I had a 375. He knows me well.
Love this forum!

Congrats on the new addition!

Let us know when you are ready for the next addition! Lots of advice available on the forum! Perhaps a .470 double would be the logical step up from there?

. Associating with this crowd does cause issues.
Bad company for sure

Well Mike I can see I am not the only person that had that thought when they got back from a Safari.
I ended getting one also but haven’t made it back yet. Still working on my wife:)
Ruger in 375 Ruger leupold 1.5-5 in a custom gray color. Started with it sighted in at 100/50 then found a great deal on Hornady 375 Ruger in 270.
Then shoot great at 200 yards. Thought I might get to use it on an Elk if I can ever draw one:(

I like the looks of that rifle! And they make it in left hand which is good for me. I’m just partial to the Ruger no. 1 and couldn’t resist when I saw that one on gun broker.

When it comes to rationalizing new guns and spending other people's money, your fellow AH members are experts.:LOL:

I was just commenting on another post about using a 375 for whitetail.
I have a friend who's been using a 375 for that very reason for years.
His reasoning is to avoid tracking an animal altogether.

Beauty of a rifle.
Post a target when you get a chance.

Wow beautiful rifle! I am a huge fan of Ruger No.1s. :) Congrats!!! (y)(y)

having fired one in 450/400, i can vouch for the value of the big pad.
they are really too light for big cartridges, as such being quite violent to shoot.
but they sure look good.
bruce.

I recently picked up a Ruger No. 1 in 9.3x62. Once on the bull, the first three shots grouped at 3/4" at 100 yds. Those heavy slugs at moderate velocity tend to shoot pretty well.

This wasn’t to me but I just went to the range a couple week ago with the Ruger 375 in 270 and changed it from sighted in at 50/100 to 200.
Started at 100 moved it up about 1.5 high at 100. Then shot the first shot on this 200 yd target. Low to the right moved it up an over and shot the three shot.
At 200 I am used to a scope at 14 magnification so 5 looks a long way off.
I was real happy with these results.
The other targets are my Ruger 204 great results also.

I’d be tickled with those results too! Very nice. What load were you using?

I never started loading so I use factory loads. This one is part of the Dangerous Game Series by Hornady.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
