For close DG, I think open sights are the way to go. If, however, you are planning on longer range shots, like in the Mozambique swamps for buffalo then you cant do better than a Leica Magnus 1-6.3 x 24i. Super clear, red dot, massive field of view, 30mm tube, super strong. Put it on QD mounts and zero your open sights in for the best of both worlds.
