Maybe this is worth a new tread but I will do my best to answer here for you.

I also had conversations with Conservation Force about this.

It's definitely something that we are working very hard on.The most important factor for now is to prove that we have poaching under control.Our team and the blocks to the south of us have made incredible progress in this regard and poaching is way down .You can definitely see that with the amount of wildlife that's in the area now especially the big numbers of elephant and buffalo.

We are hoping and have had discussion with Gonarezhou to be incorporated as some kind of wildlife preserve in the future and get allocated funds for anti poaching from say the Frankfort zoological society.If we can prove that poaching is under control and tick a few other boxes we can try and sit down with USFWS again.

If Elephants can be exported our area will one of the prime hunting areas in Southern Africa.There is a big average size difference between our area and hunting area's next to Hwange for instance.

Where do you plan to go? It sounds like you want a great hunt at a great price..... Look towards Zimbabwe

And yes avoid that whole by the inch thing. Find a hunt where you take the best you can find and go in an area known to have what interests you. Especially on buffalo.

I've only hunted one elephant so far and that was a trophy bull so no experience with tuskless but everyone says it can be very exciting and truly dangerous. We did get into a large herd and it made my hair stand on end.

You might also consider a non trophy bull elephant hunt. To me elephant is a more interesting hunt than buffalo but I'm sure you will enjoy either as long as you book a good area with a good outfit and PH. And from reports I've heard, I would avoid the night time crop raider elephant hunts.

You don't have to avoid them; you can also shoot elephants, especially crop raiders, in the middle of the night. You need a light source, and a rifle with a scope can be very helpful. As Europeans, we are experienced in shooting wild boars at night. Basically, the technique is the same. You sit at the edge of the cornfield and wait that the wild boar or the elephant appear. At times it happened to shoot a trophy elephant of this way, but sometimes it could also only are a tuskless. I was lucky on such a hunt and shot an almost 50-pounder. But that has nothing to do with a booked tuskless or elephant cow hunt, which can be conducted under various circumstances, including shooting an animal in the mid of a herd. I shot a elephant cow in the mid of a herd, but pay nothing for it. Exciting and dangerous certainly, but not particularly enjoyable considering the stress you cause in the herd. I would never spend money for something like this.

Having done a traditional tracking hunt and having a good friend do the night hunt.... although he shot it in daylight. But listening to him it would not be my first choice. More of a cull than a hunt.

There are different kind of hunting, sometimes for the same game species, in this case also for the elephant. I hunted trophy elephants as well as crop raiders. Shooting crop raiders certainly does not have the charm of a trophy hunt where you have to follow tracks for days to find a right big tusker, but don't dream too much, the flair of out of Africa was once, we live in 2025, not 1925 and elephants are also found where there is enough food and plenty of water, just like human people. For this reason the different areas where you can encounter this game species. Shooting problem animals is also part of hunting and certainly makes nowadays more sense than shooting primarly tuskless or elephant cows in the mid of a herd.
