It finally arrived today. I'm now the proud owner of a 550 in 375. Figured I'd give a Unboxing review.
Box was rather plain brown cardboard with a Gal shooting a CZ rifle on the lid. When I opened it up the rifle was packed well within styrofoam and wrapped in oiled plastic.
The rifle had very few machine marks and none where in the areas that touch moving parts. The blueing isn't quite the gloss one would expect from a Browning yet not as dull as what I've come to see on Ruger and Remington. It's very uniform with no thin or splotchy areas.
The wood now I was really impressed with a factory produced rifle with the stick they put it in. It's a nice walnut colored piece of very straight grain walnut. With a nice oil finish. Grain is perfect through the wrist and had nice figure throughout. It also has very nice albiet machined checkering.
The bore looks very nice with no burrs in the chamber or rifling that are visible with aid of light.
The action is very smooth and seems to eject wonderfully. Had no issues feeding factory Hornady ammo. It ejects very nicely wether you are pulling the bolt as fast as can be or as slow.
I shall try and post some results as to how it shoots this weekend when I make the range.
