CZ 550 Magnum

Is the CZ550 magnum discontinued?
O man!
Yes.
After that introduced push feed medium action CZ 557.
Then CZ557 discontinued as well.
After that they introduced push feed - tried to be - modular CZ 600, on medium action.
Then they made safety recall, something wrong with exchangeable barrel design.
Then they continued marketing of that CZ 600.
New CZ 600 is produced with very limited number of most common calibers.

If you are looking for new magnum length action first stop is mauser 98 DWM, 10k, starting price.

Good luck with sale!

To answer your question yes the entire 550 line was discontinued.. They are strictly a used gun maker now. Sad state of affairs.

The 550 was such a nice gun for the money. My first DG rifle was a 550 in 375 H&H.

They really need to bring it back!

That push forward set trigger should be standard on every bolt action rifle.
I hated that trigger on large calibres, why would you need a set trigger on a dangerous game rifle. On a plains game rifle where you have time to set up and take a longer range shot they are good. Aside from that the 550 is a great rifle

The stock trigger on my CZ550 375H&H was complete garbage and IMO the set trigger option was not a good thing on a rifle intended for DG.

I had Wayne at AHR do a #2 upgrade and set the trigger at 2.5 lbs. It broke like a glass rod with no discernible take up and minimal over travel. As a result, my accuracy improved to MOA or better.

Several years ago I sold that rifle to another member who has made it his client rifle for AK costal brown bear hunts. Most recently being used by a young woman to take a 9' 9" squared out brownie at nearly 150 yards. I'd say she benefitted from the trigger and other work done by AHR.

Nice bear and great AHR rifle. Never saw it but if Wayne modified it you can believe it is world class as to reliability.

The trigger on my 2 x 550 rifles is good. The set trigger is easily adjusted away ( on my 458) and the trigger was easily adjusted to a crisp break and light hair trigger on my 30-06. Pretty easy to adjust in both cases.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
