Curious about the 6.5 Weatherby RPM

I’m amazed that all the hunters were elk hunting with a 6.5. Seems like a light caliber for elk, and to have multiple people using it, that is unique. I suppose if they all were dedicated shooters with a lot of range experience…

I’m not a fan of a super light rifle. The lack of weight makes them wobble more. And, when you shoot and elk, the 1-2 lbs lighter rifle doesn’t make much a difference when trying to pack out an animal.
It's the bullet, not the cartridge. Choose carefully.

I have the TI in RPM, it likes the 140 accubond, I broke it in on Hornady interlock and it shoots that damn well also. Used it on a blackbuck and a axis deer in Texas back in March with excellent results, and no it wasn't under a feeder but spot and stock, 280 was longest shot. I believe the round will work for elk but I personally will stick with my 280ai for them, it likes to get out of the house also. My only complaint with Weatherby Mark V is their safety is damn tough to get used to. Its just awkward compared to either a Model 70 type wing safety, or a vanguard tang type, otherwise its a damn fine rifle.

Just another dead american cartridge.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
