One thing on some of their lighter boots, or at least the Thor II, is the rubber compound of the sole itself is super soft. Great for traction until its not. I wore a pair for all of the John Muir Trail in summer of 2021, then a few sections of the PCT in the Cascades and some weekend steep day hikes around the Olympics later in the early fall. All told, maybe 400 miles of backpacking trail wear. The Sierras was hard on them as it all is essentially hard granite or ground up granite pieces it seems. But by November of that year I tried to wear them backpacking into the Wiamanu Valley on the big island since they were the only warm weather hikers I really liked, and I totally ate shit three times.
Like cartoonistic, feet flying up over head, slip and fall style when going downhill on the wet clay-y soil I would just slide. I knew the soles were wearing down, but the lugs were really all but gone and enough with edged rounded off where they gave zero grip or traction. Still a great warm weather boot, stiffer than the Monaco which I like if carrying a multiday pack, but the soft grippy soles come with a price.
