Covid Testing for Return to USA?

I’m sure this has been asked before but I was wondering how to get home to the USA from tambo airport in South Africa. I don’t know where to get a test that I can take to get home

In my case my PH took me to the clinic and they email the result next day.
You can ask your outfitte, he must have a plan.

Your PH should have this figured out.
I was taken to nearest town with a AM-PATH lab right as they opened in the morning. Had results emailed by early evening, flew out early the following morning.

Mine was taken in Camp two days prior to my departure. Had results in hand before going to airport.

My guide took me to town, took the test, had results a few hours later. South Africa has it together with this PCR testing way better than here where I live in the USA!!

PCR testing is no longer a requirement to return to the US.. the BinaxNOW and other similar kits are now allowable. You can self test and get on the plane with no problem.

easiest from timimg point of view is to do antigen test at airport few hours before you fly

+1 for the BinaxNow test, I do them a couple of times a month due to travel. Order from Emed.com.
Only requires an internet connection when performing the test.

you should check with your outfitter as they probably already have something worked out.

Someone just posted where they downloaded the NAVICA app, took a BinaxNow test kit to SA with them, got online, and did the test in front of someone online. Said it took 15 minutes and results were emailed to them right away. This is what I am trying on my next hunt in 2 weeks.

just got back for SA yesterday, took antigen test at the Joburg airport but do not know why its was supposed to be required to return to the states. no one asked to see my test in SA and when we got back to the US at Newark no one asked to see the results or asked for the cdc info sheet so looks like a waste of money getting the antigen test to come back. cost 280 rand = 18.74 US

Newark was a piece of cake to go thru, a TSA agent met you they got your guns too you to a dedicated customs agent with all the hunters coming back and I was sweating bullets because of my suppressor but all he wanted to see was the serial number on my rifle, then we were taken by the TSA person to check in and a couple guys had a very short time period to make a flight and he had it done for them quickly and off we went to go thru TSA check for baggage pain in the butt there. a word of caution one of our guys had an empty cartridge case drop into his pack unnoticed and TSA in SA was all over him we did not know if they were going to take him away it took 30-45 min for him to clear. with United you can also have your ammo in your rifle case but I think Delta it has to be in a locked case in your checked bag so look closely TSA did not care
