Covid 19 - Travel regulations - South Africa

Level three speech:
It was a ban on booze sales, but just for certain days and hours. And some limits on indoor / outdoor groups to 50 and 100 respectively. Plus a curfew from 2000 to 0400. And that was about it, IIRC.

News24 dotcom posted a summary.

I see how limiting groups is related to COVID, but what’s up with the alcohol sales and curfew? Those seem completely unrelated, and the gov’t is just using a convenient excuse. Am I missing something?

Makes no sense...not much does....basically you can go to a bar Monday to Sunday, get pissed, drive home drunk but you can only buy booze for hone consumption from Monday to Thursday.....

I posted incorrectly (above) that the curfew starts at 2000 hours. Just looked again and it's actually 2200. (The Alcohol/Covid benefit is because the ugly girls don't get pretty 'till midnight.)

I do wish they would get into high gear with the vaccines. They could knock the new cases down enough to really matter in about a month or two.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.
