I'm confused. Do minimum wage, low income jobs being lost somehow not matter?
A job is a job is a job, and the only people who sneer at certain jobs, or jobs generally, are politicians like Hilary Clinton, who complained about deplorables and told Kentucky coal miners they would be re-trained as hi-tech wizards. I don't care how much or how little your job pays. A person with a job can and should hold their head up.
Human beings need purpose in life. Without it, you have rampant crime, substance abuse, social disfunction, family breakup, etc. Work give people a purpose which government payouts cannot replace. We haven't even begun to see the consequences of the incredibly stupid and short-sighted policy choices which our governments have made.
The black swan event was not the virus. Pandemics and epidemics occur from time to time. The black swan event was our reaction to the virus. No one could've predicted stupidity on such a level.
Sorry for the rant.
