COVID-19 Coronavirus UPDATES, BANS, CLOSURES, ADVISORY, etc.

Yeah, i dont think it’s just been sitting on the shelf waiting for a rainy day. It’s not standard antibiotics or levothyroxine, etc.

Yeah but most of the pharmacy here are owned by Indians...so you get lot of generic stuff ...And can have stuff in that surprises you....

Several Senators sold stock before market plunge.

I suspect that you are right. When the nighttime temperature stays above 76F that most likely will be the end of it.

A bit of irony.......Global Warming will help end COVID-19.

The details will matter. Elected officials normally have their portfolios managed “blind” where they can make no day to day decisions for this very reason. Moreover, all such sales have to be disclosed. Hardly possible to hide them. In fact, this story was fed by the disclosure process. The senate deals with a budget every year and members are aware of likely winners and losers in all sorts of industries well before the general public. They do not take advantage of that sort of “insider” knowledge. I would not be surprised if the “guilty” parties were astute asset managers rather the actual members.

Press will probably rant about that for days.

I've been taking Levothyroxine for 25 years. My pharmacy runs out all the time. The generic type comes from Puerto Rico, and when they had the hurricane, the supply chain was cut off. I can go without it for 5-7 days, after that, things start getting bad.

my wife uses it. Due to changes in dosage 137-150-1/2 pills, etc (I’m sure you know the feeling) we have a small stash in reserve.

also, she only uses Synthroid now, no generics. Her pharmacy was getting generics from China and her TSH levels were fluctuating very unusually. She chatted with a co-worker about it and she asked if she was taking the generic. Yes, was the answer. And also the problem. Once she got on Synthroid all is well. One thing she noticed about the generic is that it would fall apart on the slightest touch of water. The pharmacy chases pennies and is constantly looking for the lowest price. No wonder endocrinology is such a voodoo science. People don’t think twice about stuff like this.
What a mess.

Brent, I have no idea of what that drug is for but talk to your doctor and see if a 1/2 a dose will work. Then if he says to try it get a pill cleaver and start cutting what you have in half.

I did this with my blood pressure drug and now I have a 1/2 years supply of the whole pill. My blood pressure is fine and a few months ago I got tired of cutting the pills in half and started to take the whole pill again.

I used Synthroid for years. For some reason my Doc switched to Levo? I take
.225 mcg daily. My body is pretty in tune to any fluctuations, especially if the generic brand is a little off. I have about 6 months supply at home right now.

Levothyroxine, is for thyroid disease. Can't take 1/2 doses, as the dosage has been fine tuned over the years to meet the required TSH Levels.

I am hypothyroid.

Levothyroxine is the basic ingredient of all. My wife used to take Levoxyl (brand name) when in Seattle. Then switched to Synthroid over here on the east coast after the generic issue.

My wife would bounce around and get no sleep if she took 225!!!

True. I take Levothyroxin, which is simply the generic equivalent of Synthroid. I actually take 2 pills @.125mcg, as they don't manufacture a .225 dosage. So I'm taking a little more then I actually need.

News from the frontline

Positive Covid cases are still increasing, fortunately most are not critical, so the aim is keep hospital beds free for those who really need it.

So, we are getting creative, another large hotel has been "medicalized" in Madrid, so we now have 1.230 extra beds. All of our hospitals have underground parkings, they are being emptied, cleaned, and tents and cots put up by the Army. The Madrid Congress and Convention Center is also being transformed as a huge field hospital by the Army, a further 5.500 beds.

Our soldiers are really doing a great job :D Cheers:

We have a specific problem in Spain, as we are the the second country with the highest life expectancy, out of 46,7M citizens, 2M are over 65 and 800.000 over 80. This will inevitably mean a high rate of death due to the epidemic.

How many cases do you have now?

Our Governor in Arizona is deploying the National guard to help in the unloading restocking of grocery stores, and whatever else they may be needed for?

We had 5 cases last week in the greater Tucson area, it has increased to 10.

A Chinese person ate something which was not meant to be eaten ... and now it is the whole world's problem .
