Coppersmith, trophy shippers, or other?

Coppersmith has not only their own staff but also their own warehouses in most major ports of entry. They can save you big $$ by getting your crate off of the airport property while awaiting the lazy govt to inspect! No one has the staff or experience of Coppersmith.

Another vote for CopperSmith. Used twice and that part went very well. It was the DFW branch however so that is the only one I have experience with. Enjoy your first of many trips to Africa.
Third trip end of April and will be doing all euros or pictures. Only so much space and money for taxidermy will pay for more animals there.

By any chance do you know if they have a bonded warehouse in NY/ NJ?

Their website only lists Dallas and Chicago as having USDA warehouses but I would send them a message and ask.

Thread 'this sucks' https://www.africahunting.com/threads/this-sucks.80943/

Recent longish thread related to clearing through Chicago. (Possibly complicated by a warthog.)

Mine is "Other", but I use DFW.I started the thread and the shipment had not been sent yet, warthog is no issue if it is finished as in Euro mount. what I was posting is the storage fees at Turkish Airlines if Agriculture does not clear it the first day it arrives. mine will be because of weight 348.00 per day after 24 hours. last year no issue with fees and Coppersmiths was great. they will do the shipment arriving hopefully April 8 that is when it is supposed to get there. if I ever have animals again there will be no Buffalo or primate (Coppersmiths has a person the will clear primate for 100.00 that comes ton their warehouse) and will use Delta for shipping. big require Turkish Airlines as Delta or United will not ship any big 5

Gentleman, any opinion on " Trophy Shippers " performance?
Had bad experience with "Trophy Shippers" several years ago.
Costly errors $$$ and limited resources.

Had a great experience with Coppersmith out of Chicago with a 2022 hunt shipment. I picked up the crate at the warehouse and they were extremely helpful in all aspects.
Would highly recommend.

I got a response from Trophy Shippers today that they only have a bonded warehouse in Houston. Therefore I'll be sticking with Coppersmith given my shipment will be coming into Chicago.

Going on my first Africa hunt next year. Planning on using Coppersmith, I live 1 hour from Houston and 3 hours from Dallas any words of wisdom on Dallas vs Houston coppersmith sites?

Cargo tours, jfk

I’d ask them which location they have a bonded warehouse at

I have used them for my last three safaris and yes they are expensive but very high quality. And with all my trophies I always felt that they had my best interest in hand, and were always a phone call or email away

I've used Safari Speciality Importers twice now.

The owner is a hunter and all they do is trophy imports so they know the ropes from the skinning shed to your home.

I have used Coppersmith in Dallas once. It was a positive experience.

I've used Coppersmith multiple times and it's always been good. Great communication and lots of built in organizational capability I haven't seen it other freight forwarders. The Coppersmith folks and experience in Houston are excellent!

I’ve used Coppersmith before zero problems. That said word on the street is Turkish at DFW is having some very large storage charges. So much so that my Broker said to used Ethiopian to IAD and Forward Air (truck) to DFW. I have not heard anything about IAH.

Coppersmith 3 times no problems.

Is that the same as a U.S.D.A approved warehouse?
I believe so but I’m not exactly sure. It means coppersmiths can pick it up day 1 and take it to their warehouse waiting on us fish wildlife and USDA instead of waiting in airline storage. When I chose between NY and Chicago coppersmiths was very helpful advising me which one was easier at that point in time. I’d think they’d answer the same question for you Dallas vs Houston if you asked.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
