With the excellent rifles many of you have could you help me out and describe the differences between the Blackburn (Swift) and Sunny Hill bottom metals for a Winchester 70 in 375 H&H? The two are not far apart in price and quality so I am most interested in details like trigger guard profile, finishing, and other aspects. Pictures would really be great to assist in choice. Blackburn (Swift) mentions they have a special distinctive profile but I have not found anything showing how it is distinctive compared to the Sunny Hill.

The Blackburn piece has a classic (and more handsome) guard loop. The magazine plate also has a slightly more rounded shape, which is subtle but adds to the appeal.

I knew Ted Blackburn and used to watch him machine these beautiful pieces while he opined on various subjects. Memorable guy.

As I indicated in your other threads on this subject, Blackburn (now at Swift) bottom metal is somewhat rougher and requires polishing and possibly tuning.
Here's Blackburn. Note the machining marks and locking lever for floorplate needs tuning. My Mauser Blackburn bottom metal also needed tuning for floorplate lock. Not a big deal though.

And here's Sunny Hill bottom metal. I don't notice much difference in shape.

Edit: Blackburn guard loop appears to be thinner width and Sunny Hill has longer trigger slot.

Both have there pros and cons, and regardless of what some say, all will need some fitting. The Blackburn has more subtle features than the sunnyhill, such as the trigger guard shape, curved like a classic Mauser , the rear screw hole metal is shaped to flow better with the stock and the front tang is shaped more, in a curved fashion as well as the overall curves on the floor plate, the sunnyhill has the potential to be shaped to how you want it.

We believe the memories are the true prize. The small things are the big things.
And we’re proud to offer a hunting experience that honours exactly that.

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
Two African Safaris Hunted South Africa both times,
