I have 4 cats I need mounted and looking for recommendations.

Serval
Genet
Black backed jackal
Caracal
All life size
Potentially a life size cape bushbuck.

Wanting to know anyone in Colorado who would recommend someone for cats. Pics of completed taxidermy would help! I have a couple in mind but wanting to either solidify my choice or see other opinions.

Thanks!

Elk Ridge Taxidermy. Ed does some great work. He did my full body sheep that currently lives upstairs at Sportsman's Warehouse in the Springs if you want to see an example of his work in person. I don't have any pics of the bobcat he did for me, but his work on cats is what got me in his shop to begin with.

Ok great I’ll give him a call and see if he has done these before. Cats are very specific to me and need to look just right. I’ve seen too many poorly done cats especially in the eyes and my current taxidermist doesn’t have a true African cat taxidermist in the shop.

Has anyone used artworks taxidermy? I’ve been in their shops a few years ago and curious on the experience

I completely agree about the importance of “cat specific” details. I think I see more odd looking cat heads and faces than any other type of mounted animal. I have no current recommendation for a cat taxidermist. If you can’t personally inspect examples, best advice would be to carefully study the photos of completed work from as many angles as possible.

Not in Colorado but @gizmo shop does good work on cats! He did my leopard

Wildlife Creations, Bellvue Colorado. Has done several mounts for me including a Bobcat. All excellent work

Big Cat Taxidermy, Lapland Ranier, Craig, Colorado mountain a puma for me couple years ago. It turned out great. I think he stays pretty busy. Hutch

Pull up their website and look at the sleeping leopard. The lighter of the two is my wife's leopard. The mount looks as good today as it did thirty years ago when it was mounted.
