Hunting mates,

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on CMS Safari for a buffalo hunt.

Thanks very much.

They are one of the best I’ve hunted with. I’ve hunted Dande North and Dande East. I’d like to hunt Nyakasanga next. They are a little more expensive than some of the other outfitters in the Zambezi valley but they have a proven stability some of the other outfitters there don’t yet have as well as having good areas and PHs. You can PM me for more information if you’d like. Here are my reports.

I have also hunted with CMS safaris in 2022 for elephant. I hunted Dande area. Have absolutely zero complaints about the trip. The way everything was handled well before the trip, arrival at airport, and at camp was excellent. I am in the planning stages right now to hunt in Nyakasanga next. Feel free to pm me as well for any additional questions.

I've known them for about 20 years and have hunted with them three times, once in Makuti, once in Dande, and once in Dance East. I had great success in all three areas. They are an excellent outfitter who not only deliver high quality hunts, but also partner with the local government in their areas and give back to the community. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

My first trip with CMS was 2017, reports on here.

Top marks from me, I won't look anywhere else if I want to go to Zimbabwe. They have access to a number of properties, and it shows their professionalism that they are trusted to exclusively market hunts in places like Nyakasanga.

I also happen to have some specific dietary restrictions and they have had no issue accommodating me beyond expectations.

I hunted with them in 2019. I have posted a hunt report. I highly recommend them.

Outstanding outfit. Honest, great areas and are the real deal. You are in good hands with these folks.

I hunted with CMS in late September of 2024 in the Nyakasanga Safari area. Working with Buzz and his team was very easy and all communication was prompt and precise. My PH was Keith Wall and he and his team were excellent. The camp is old school Africa on the banks of the Zambezi and the food and staff are great. I took a cape buff, kudu, big croc, sharpes grysbok and a big old eland. The area is easy hunting compared to the Omay but the drought was taking its toll as pans dried up. Hopefully the rains came and replenished. It’s expensive but you get what you pay for.
I need to write my hunt report- would be glad to discuss with you- let me know

I have done three hunts with CMS. Almost without exception any reference you find to their hunts, concessions and PHs is nothing but positive. After experiencing my CMS hunts I know they are the real deal. Any future hunts I do in Zim will automatically be booked with CMS.

My first trip to Africa and first elephant were with CMS in Makuti many years ago but they've only gotten better. I highly recommend them and they are VERY respected in the trade. PM if you would like to hear more.

I will add that if you don't have your mind made up about CMS PHs...Alan Shearing that works for them is an excellent PH with a lot of experience. I would hunt with him anywhere, anytime and he is very easy to spend time with. They are all excellent and everyone wants to hunt with Buzz but Alan is fantastic in my personal experience.

The nice thing about CMS’s PH are several of them (Buzz, Myles, Alan, Len, Dean, Keith) have got a lot of TV time on “Tracks Across Africa” and “Hornady Dark and Dangerous.” I’ve met several of them and hunted with Alan. As far as I can tell the person on the show is the person you hunt with, no acting. The episodes are all available on MyOutdoorTV so you can get a good idea who you’ll hunt with.

I hunted with them in 2021 and had a great experience. I posted a trip report.

Cannot go wrong…CMS are a top top outfitter. I’ll be hunting Elephant with them in May. Hunted Dande East back in 2012 I think it was.
They will have several options for you. They hunt several Prime areas for Buff.
Dande North
Nyakasanga
Sengwe
For example…

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
