Clothing? + gaiter recommendations

Thanks folks, appreciate it. There is a kit list on the outfitter website but this also really helps. I basically live in kuiu attack pants,(brown) so will probably use them but will add in gaiters just in case.

I’ve been gradually phasing across to olive colours on all my hunting stuff but what’s the etiquette with camo? Seems legal South Africa but apprently not allowed in other places? I’ve got a mix of both over time!

I usually wear OD, khaki or coyote. I might on occasion wear camo. I was a LEO so we received an allowance for 5.11 clothing so that worked out to my advantage!

I gave up on cammo years ago. The only thing it does is increase the profits for the clothing manufacturers.
Blaze orange on a driven boar hunt ? I think nearly all states in the US have mandatory blaze orange for hunters.
Sight, sound, smell and silhouette are the important elements to remember.
A PH hunted with me in a blue and white polo shirt. It didn’t make an iota of difference.

There are so many great choices for clothes as you have seen. The one thing I always make sure of is Teeste flies. If they will be present thick heavy long sleeve cotton shirts and long pants are the best defense given sprays will do little.

Hi Sika98k,

I don't like wearing gaiters when I can help it. I prefer boots and pants that cover the top of the boot.

When I have to wear gaiters Outdoor Research Crocodile Gaiters work well. Don't get the Expedition ones, those are for going over thick insulated pants.

Also, Badlands has a set of Gaiters, (hilariously) named Master Gaiters. I have used those as well. I would say at first they seemed less thick, so I thought less durable. But they have held up very well over time, and I like some of their features more than a lot of others I have tried. I believe they also have a lifetime warranty on all items.
