Clip On Belt Shell Carriers

Check my earlier post re. the units made by RMK Leatherworks (Australia)

@JimP - I know it's a stretch to consider a full cartridge belt but I'd ask you to keep an open mind and hear me out.

The thing I love best about a cartridge belt is being able to easily take it off when I get in the truck. Yes you could do this with a clip on cartridge carrier but you could not also carry your hunting knife (or multi-tool), possibles pouch or anything else on it. My belt stays wherever my rifle is...and when I grab one, I grab them both and I'm ready to go. This has been useful when taking a leisurely ride in the bakkie and all of a sudden having to shift into full hunting mode. Result was a Zebra down with one shot.

As mentioned earlier, pulling the carrier off the belt when trying to get the cartridges could be an issue but it looks like you are headed in the right direction with quality Tek-Lok products. I will say that I see your side of the argument on this, but it would still be a concern for me.

I know I didn't make much of a dent in your opinion, but I wanted to give it a try. If you do consider a cartridge belt may I suggest one from Murray Leather. This is mine with leather loops fitted for 375H&H and similar cartridges. If you want elastic loops he can do that as well. He's a great guy to work with and this is a very high quality product at a reasonable price. Best of luck with your decision.

Personally once I got a good culling belt, I never looked back. Slip on/clip on are vastly awkward in comparison, in my experience

You can lose a clip held fixture by just bending over if you have a stomach at all. And they don't make a sound when they drop--you have to backtrack to find them every time.
So unless Murphy's law has taken a vacation, no.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
