Gents, I have a mauser with front claw mount base dovetail cut into the front receiver ring, and the typical suhler type rear base.

Can anyone tell me the height difference between them, ie. the front ring BH will need to be shorter than the rear BH ring. I have a feeling it's 1.5mm; however, you can only get rings with a full 1mm difference, which makes it virtually impossible to fit a set of rings..and I find that hard to believe, so is it 1mm or 2mm?..

anyone knows?

To add, rear base at 5MM BH sits flush with front receiver ring top. So is a dovetail cut 3mm deep? if so, and using a 5mm BH front foot plate, that would sit the top of the front foot exactly 2mm above the rear...

damn clawmounts! LOL

Here's the target for the NorthForks - 25yds off a bag, iron sights. Hunting leopards over dogs the range won't be more than that.

Flew in an airshow in Smyrna years ago, beautiful country.

Best regards,
