It seems to be offline and unregistered as a domain. Did something happen with George? Hope he is ok.

Well, George has 608 listings on Guns International, so I am guessing it’s a website or server issue.

I noticed the same thing yesterday. I know his health has not been great the last year and his long-time secretary is no longer with us. I imagine details of his business might be getting past him. I hope that's all it is.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing. He had a real health scare last fall.

Even though George doesn't update the tech side much, I still enjoy reading through his colorful descriptions and good photos. I'm sad to see his website down. If you haven't been to his shop, you're missing out on a great experience. I get over there sometimes to see what has NOT been listed and have bought/traded into several nice guns that way. The piles of random coolness are hard to describe if you haven't experienced it.

I saw a couple of Chapuis Elan's on Guns International that said still available from them, FWIW.

Well I called the phone number for the business expecting a message machine to pick up, instead George answered.....and I'm feeling stupid about that. But he confirms they're still in business and website is being updated.

Thanks Phil! That's a relief.

Glad to hear that. I wonder if George knows his domain could be bought right now? It looks like he doesn’t have possession of it.

There’s a grace period where you can repurchase a domain that you failed to renew. It looks like it was registered for a year and made private on 1-19-2025.

Will second the comments about a trip to visit George Caswell and tour the gun vault of Champlin's in Enid, Oklahoma. I have kids and grandkids in the OK City area, so while visiting them a couple years ago, I took my son-in-law and grandson and paid a visit to Champlin. As @ActionBob mentioned, call ahead or email George to set up an appointment. Their building is located at the Enid Airport. It seems that Mr. Champlin was also an aviation enthusiast and owned quite a collection of vintage old aircraft. Champlin's grand dad was one of the original oil tycoons in Oklahoma, so I assume that's where the funding for planes and double guns came from. JJ Perodeau has relocated his shop and I believe it's up around Tulsa.

Oh, you're the guy! Huh...call me when you want to sell it. I've called more than once on that gun.

A visit to his shop is on my need to do list!
Dave be sure to schedule lots of time:) Ask about elephant hunts, rifles with stories, etc.... Well, actually you just need to lean back in a chair in the gun vault and let him talk, occasionally get up to fondle a particular piece he will point out;)

Yes, he's right...the best part is to sit in the vault and listen while sorting through the piles around you and looking at whatever he hands you or catches your eye. On 2 trips, I have picked up the broom handle Mauser off the freaking floor and said when are you going to list this one? George just says, I haven't gotten around to it yet. I have spent many hours there. Then you go back into the main area and just start sorting through the stacks of gun cases and guns lying everywhere.

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
