CFE223 powder in mid bore cartridges

There's a plethora of cartridges from 17 Remington to 458 win mag you can use CFE223 in. It's as versatile if not more so than 2298/varget only better

Yes, I use it in .223, .30-30, .308, ,358 Win, .35 Whelen and .375 WSM... and also in a few others that I no longer shoot... it is usually the fastest, but not always the most consistent... the accuracy is generally good though.

Load from a disc shows a lot slower velocity and a lot less pressure. With 225s in the 358win.

My go to load in the .358 Win is 50.0 W748 driving the 200 SP or RN... many truck loads of game have fallen to that load... so I agree with Rick.

@Rick HOlbert uses a snoot full behind the 225s. He is looking forward to trying the 225gn Woodleigh rnsp that I sent him on PG shortly.

These were all flattened by the 200 SP's driven by 50.0 grains of W748... so PG should go down with similar authority.

I'm going back in June and once again I'll be using my 358. This time though instead of 225grn TSX's I'll be using 225grn Woodleigh RN Weldcore's that good friend Bob supplied me with. Long live the 358! LOL!

Outstanding sir!! I've used my 358 in Namibia before on my first trip there in 2016. Very impressed with how it worked on the game I harvested then. I'm going back in June and once again I'll be using my 358. This time though instead of 225grn TSX's I'll be using 225grn Woodleigh RN Weldcore's that good friend Bob supplied me with. Long live the 358! LOL!

That should do you just fine, I debated on bringing my .350 Rem Mag to this past March, but decided to stretch the legs of my .375 WSM with 235 TSX bullets... I didn't want to blow-up the Steenbok! Lol. Have a great trip.

Thanks much sir. A good time will be had indeed! I would recommend bringing your 350 Rem mag if you get the chance. My old teacher, Jeff Cooper used his "Lion Scout" To take a lion. He was using 250grn Swift A-Frames at 2500+ fps. 35 caliber bullets just plain work!!

You're preaching to the choir, Rick... I have been a .35 cal fan for going onto half a century! Lol. Time flies. The .375 WSM was exceptional in Namibia this year, I warmed it up with a bear and moose last fall. I would love to bring my Ruger M77 .350 Rem Mag Carbine, as I am very comfortable lobbing the 250 Partitions out to 400 yards. The problem is, I kinda ruined the plot by building a 7mm PRC, with the express intention of whacking a Wildebeest Slam among others in 2026. Same problem as always, so many girls, you don't know which one to dance with! Lol. Take care and good shooting!

LOL, I know the feeling. All of my hunts over the last 10 years I've been on a kick using medium bore rifles. My .358, 338-06, 9.3X62 and 375 H&H. There's just something about lobbing big bullets that limit tracking if any at all. I fall in the Elmer Keith camp as I like heavy for caliber bullets. Having been a bandleader for 60 years has taught me to chase accuracy over velocity and moderate velocity has been taking game cleanly for a very long time. As for the dancing,... eager beats pretty,... err, that's another story for much later.
