Gizmo the power to regulate international commerce is granted to the Feds. Legally hunted animals from foreign country's brought here as finished or unfinished taxidermy is regulated by the Feds. So I think you are correct if passed and challenged in court it would be struck down! Let's hope anyway!
As for states rights my ancestors fought for them and the courts have chopped away at them ever since. Can you tell me of any case in the last say 50 years where under the 10 th states have prevailed against the federal government?
Sadly I can think of nothing....from voting rights to Obama care!

Actually if you added in medical marijuana there are a hellava lot of states including Texas. Don't get excited tho Texas allows only low thc engineered plants and they have to be registered with DPS. Crap tons of permits etc.... Also it can only be possessed in the oil form for people who have scripts. This per last legislative update.

Yes I can .... how about legalizing marijuana? Still a federal crime but legal in 5 states. SCOTUS just struck down a suit brought by Okla and Neb. about enforcement and expense to police our borders from Colo.

That's because the attorney general and president choose not to enforce the existing laws!

I'm not sure if this would do any good or if it's feasible but could African outfitters, game parks, or countries affected sue the State of Connecticut, or any other jurisdiction that denied their right to a legal income or words to that effect?

Yes they could sue, anyone can sue anyone for anything. However, they would lose, as they have to standing to bring such a claim.

I had not seen an update so I called Senator Duff's office to find out what the status was. (Probably opened myself up to further scrutiny as I couldn't get an answer until I gave them the name of my first born) Apparently the bill flew through our equivalent of the DEC and will be heard no later than May 4th. I wanted to puke when I read through the provisions included in the bill and told him so. I have a full body leopard that will have to be destroyed upon my death. It potentially makes a criminal out of just about 90% of my friends who have such trophies and the list is set to grow. This is not about the big five but about all hunting.



I had the gall to ask him what drove him to the decision to support such a bill and he said he was passionate animal lover to which I responded so was I. He finds hunting barbaric and there was little I could add that he was willing to listen to.



The damage being made from the Cecil propaganda is permanent and perhaps irreversible at this point.

He's not a passionate animal lover, he's a selfish ass! Wonder if his office supports PETA...using public funds maybe hmmmm! Dig up dirt time? If he were passionate about animals he would understand why there needs to be hunting. It's not really up the NRA's alley but maybe they could help out. Put a little pressure on the idiot. I thought you were supposed to be unbiased in politics.......LOL!
I would suggest that hunters call or write his office in protest. Put a little pressure on him. I'm guessing they wont because unless you have hunted Africa hunters here generally don't care as long as they can hunt their Whitetail. That is why we lose because we are split into "factions" instead of acting as one....plus there's the usual apathy...not my problem....somebody else fix it!

We need to do more that post things. JJ has a lot on his plate dealing on bigger things. He is getting older and has no one to take his place. We need to hold SCI 's feet to the fire and make them accountable for hunting and its membership. All they did was post this issue on there web page.....
