CB Finance debate, Egg Recipes, etc.

I equate putting the egg in the refrigerator after cooking to high fence hunting. You can say it's the same as a free range egg, but you're only fooling yourself.

I equate it to hunting buffalo with the old DGX, only tastier.

EH literary style, skills etc are probably better then CB's. After all EH won the Nobel prize, and CB probably will not.
But on subject on hunting, firearms, and especially MODERN African safari, if someone wants to learn what is going on in Africa today, where to hunt giant eland, or mountain nyala, or exportable elephant, etc... those things can not be found in EH books, but in CB's.
CB is most prolific contemporary author.
EH gives tradition, CB gives atlas of modern hunting.

I actually made Eggs Benedict the other day, I never knew the hollandaise sauce actually had eggs in it. The more you know.

Understatement of the year. Because of Hemingway, I’ve been to Harry’s Bar in Venice to drink Bellini’s, Pamplona to run with the bulls and Africa to Hunt. I can say that CB has not inspired me to do anything, much less read the stuff he cranks out every month for multiple outdoor magazines!!!!!!

I can agree to that! The motivation is not mentioned in my previous post.

Certainly, EH and Ruark motivate! (and many others of older generation authors)
I have read them first, which boosted my interest and motiviation in African safari.

Then, I started looking for contemporary information... then you simply have to look in other sources.

Big Bore , please let us know when CB pays back all of those creditors he screwed out of their money please. High character my asss.

Made it to Harry's I believe in 2001. Never made it to Pamplona though.

Got my copy of Buffalo II today, looks like it will be a good read. Too bad some wont avail themselves of it due to their irrational hatred of someone they don't even know. Sad.:(

What's ever more sad is people that consider unethical behavior as normal, or acceptable. It does say alot about you though.

If I knew for fact that he had done something wrong or unethical, that might be a good point. But I don't and likely you don't either, just don't like the guy because of crap you read or were told. I aint got time to hate people for rumors. Maybe you do.

His personal bankruptcy is public record - not a rumor. Six months later I was watching he and Donna buying JB Hill boots at DSC. The cost of those two pair of boots would have settled a claimant. He also seems to have mysteriously hung onto his battery of firearms through the process. I guess that is just a clever lawyer's work, and something some people would find laudable. All I know is his Todd Ramirez 7x57 would have addressed a couple of more outstanding issues. Any of us can get in financial trouble. I would simply hope most of us would use every means at our disposal to settle the debts that we could. We shouldn't forget that getting over on the courts also means sticking it to a legitimate creditor. He does indeed know a lot about hunting Africa - at whomever's expense.

I understand that. But I ask what does it have to do with anything related to me. Nothing. I know the guy personally at least casually. OK, big deal. I notice often its mentioned that "well how does he afford all those safaris?".. Some may not know this but in the not too distant past, it was commonplace for magazines or manufacturers to foot the bill for hunting trips for writers to get favorable reports "from the field". Old news that!
As to his bankruptcy. Of this I only know what others have stated. Some of it may be true. Some of it probably jealous BS. I don't care. It has nothing to do with me. So for those that want to carry around this hatred for the guy because he uses too many exclamation points, or got a few trips paid for, or went thru a bankruptcy, have at it. I don't waste my time with it. I consider it nonsense.

Fair enough. His behavior is irrelevant to you. That is absolutely your prerogative. My point is it wasn’t to a lot of other people. Some who couldn’t afford to be be written off by a famous, popular outdoor “personality.” I have a hard time getting past that. Probably because we both came from a culture where we were given a special trust while in uniform, it is particularly disturbing to me.

A point that is apparently lost on many here.

I don't like any politician of any party. I like Trump much more than what the baby murdering party offers though I can guarantee you that.

So let's get this straight. You see nothing wrong with a guy not paying his bills, perhaps putting his creditors in financial hardship, while all the while traveling all over the world to hunt? While his wife spends lavishly? While his high $$$ gun collection remains untouched? Seriously?

You don't seem to understand what I am saying, so I will say it real slow for you to make it easy. I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH OF THE BLATHER IS JUST BLATHER. People can say whatever they like especially on the interweb BS sites. I have no personal knowledge of the accusations, nor do I know anyone personally affected by the allegations, and that is all they are to me, allegations.
Lets not waste anymore time on this. You believe what you want, be mad, hate the guy, or whatever it is that gets you thru your day. Done with this! You can even have the last word.
