I try to prep all my cases the same and NEVER assume that new cases are OK to load. I FL resize new cases, measure them and use my old Herter's case trimmer with the correct pilot (it is just like the newer Forster trimmer). I deburr each case and measure them all again before loading.
I have had new brass from various manufacturers (especially lately with the shortages) and have found some cases with burrs, dents and out of square case mouths. So I correct all the cases BEFORE I start reloading.
