Cartridge for dangerous first game

Apparently, not all little boys want to grow up to be a screeching drag queen.

There might be hope for this mixed up world after all.

Buffmen,

Thank You for posting this excellent video.

Ontario Hunter,

I agree with you that, the boy’s rifle appears to be a .375 H&H.
Since we’re only afforded a split second look at the cartridge, as he’s quickly pressing them into his Pattern 17 (perhaps 14) custom Enfield actioned rifle, mine is only a guess.

And gun handling yes, that boy has obviously, “Practiced, practiced, practiced and then practiced some more”.

My heart was warmed by this video.

I say Bravo to that lad and his Father who, obviously is investing the time and energy, in leading his son up the path toward eventually becoming a well disciplined and responsible adult.

Best Regards,
Velo Dog.

If being a screeching drag queen is in their genetic makeup, then so be it. Is what it is. Kids don't grow up to be gay. It's what they are when born.

From the kid's accent, I would say the family is resident to southern Africa. Guess he comes by hunting naturally. Environmental not genetic.

Hi again Ontario Hunter,

I have clumsily offended you with my “screeching drag queen” quip.
For that, I apologize.

Perhaps instead, I should’ve said, “screeching anti-hunter”.

Kind Regards,
Velo Dog.

No problem. FYI I'm straight as an arrow. But I've also worked with and for many openly gay people. To a man (and woman) they were great people and treated me fairly and with respect. FYI I'm also no fan of pride parades, etc. I would find pole dancer parades equally distasteful. Sexual behavior/preference should be a private not public concern.

Apologies for derailment but felt I needed to set the record straight (pun intended).

No, just well educated. And it all started with learning the Golden Rule at Sunday school.
Someone’s education (real or perceived) quite literally means nothing to me at present. There was a time when it did.. Obviously there are exceptions.

Judging by your stance on the topic at hand I see you didn’t learn anything else whatsoever in Sunday school..

I shouldn’t have responded in the first place and I don’t want to derail this thread any more than I have already so I will not respond further.

Thanks to all of you, I think I'll opt for the 375 H&H, I hope I'm not wrong.
My idea was the 404 Jeffery or 416 Rigby so as not to have an excessive recoil, but since the factory ammunition for these two cartridges is currently almost impossible to obtain at least in my country and in South Africa (where I plan the hunt at the moment).

Out of curiosity, I've seen this video (I don't know if I can put Youtube links) at minute 26:30 the elephant receives a frontal shot, and the boy then reloads, is it a 375 H&H?

You will not be disappointed with the 375 H&H at all. Learn to shoot it accurately and with confidence and it will serve you very well on dangerous game.
