Does anyone have any ideas on best areas to stay and hotel recommendations for an upcoming 3 night stay in Capetown. This will take place the beginning of May in 2026. Want to be able to walk safely.to restaurants and shops ( the wife ). Thanks
We have stayed in Higgovale, Tamberksloef, City Bowl, Gardens, Sea Point and Camps Bay. Outside of Bo Kap I have been comfortable walking in all of the more downtown areas.
For shops and restaurants I would say VA Waterfront, Camps Bay and Gardens are ideal.
I stayed at the Commodore last August. Short walk to the wharf, great eating places, safe. It was a huge surprise after many trips through Joburg and that anxiety. They have an incredible breakfast buffet. Only regret was we didn't stay an extra day. VERY reasonable for everything.
Zimbabwe (Matabeleland North - Hwange & Matabeleland South - Marula/Plumtree), Namibia, South Africa (Limpopo, Free State, North West, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Gauteng)
V&A Waterfront is probably the most convenient but will come at an increased cost. I’ve stayed at the Double Tree and the Canopy (both Hilton properties) and covered the cost of the stay with points.
Driving in Cape Town is very easy and stress free. I’d suggest you consider renting a car and driving to some of the sights instead of relying on walking, the hop on/off bus, or hiring a car. It’ll open up a world of possibilities.
Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!
Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx
I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
