Can I bring a tactical shotgun stock from the USA to South Africa?

Hi all. I'm currently working in the US. I will be returning to South Africa in December. I was gifted a tactical shotgun stock for my birthday and would like to bring it back to SA with me. Would I be allowed to bring it in my checked luggage? The TSA said it won't be a problem in the USA, but I'm not sure about South African customs. Any info would be highly appreciated.

It seems that you are a South African citizen returning home. You want to import on a permanent basis a tactical shotgun from the USA.

I think you need an import permit from S.A.
Contact riflepermits.com They are a S.A. sponsor of AH and very knowledgeable.

I don't think you can take a firearm on a plane leaving the USA for SA without an approved South Africa Police Service permit.
