I need someone that can expand the size of the magazine so it will feed 450 to 500 grain bullets.

Surely someone knows a gunsmith

Not sure how close you are, but I would check with Hyatt's in Charlotte.

Gary Junk, Arctic Gunworks, Fairbanks, Alaska.

If it won’t feed 450-500 grain bullets, what will it feed? Is it the flat nose bullets that won’t feed? Or will it also not feed round nose?
I have some old Hornady 300 grain flat nose handloads that hang up about every 3rd round. Since I intend to use it to hunt things that are entirely capable of killing me I need to be able to depend on it. It appears that the angle of the bullet coming out of the magazine is too steep.

The mag. won't hold anything longer than a Barnes 350 grain TTSX, which it feeds flawlessly.

Where do you live in North Carolina? I use to know some gunsmiths around Winston-Salem area and currently having a 458WM being rebuilt in Hendersonville.

I live in Pinehurst which is in the center of the State. I have a cabin in Madison County that I am going to next week to meet a contractor to fix some flood damage so Hendersonville is a small detour. Contact information would be appreciated.

Hendersonville was hammered by the floods from the no name storm and is now being threaten by the Table Rock wildfire. I hope your gunsmith is ok.

I am about 1.5 hours from Charlotte so I will give them a call. I knew they were a big gun dealer but didn't know they had gunsmiths. I will give them a call. Thanks.

I know they have a few smiths on staff and worth a check to keep it local.

Gentlemen,

Jon Shue of Blackmass Custom LLC is a several time national service pistol champion, retired USMC MOS 2112 Match Armorer, custom gunsmith, and machinest. I've had Jon do a couple of trigger jobs for my 1911's.

Blackmass specializes in 1911's to my knowledge. If they can make 1911's feed reliably they are worth asking if they can modify your rifle magazine.

I can recommend:

Michael Merker Riflemakers
401 South Grove Street
Hendersonville, NC

I delivered my 458WM to Jason in September to have:

stock replaced, it was repaired
add a second recoil lug,
lighten the trigger to 2 pounds,
repair receiver,
mount new scope

Picked up my 458WM today. I was able to get to the range for 2 test shots. I'm very satisfied with the work they did on my rifle. The action is smoother, with crisp trigger.

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
