Just got back from my 6th hunt with Andri Fox - Andrifox safaris- and took my first bush pig sow. I understand hunters can spend as much time in a pig blind as a leopard blind before seeing anything. I was lucky!
Two hours after dark one showed up, the light went on and the .308 went off. In the ear and down for the count. With all my other plains game I had another fantastic hunt with Andri.

Andri is as great a PH as he is a person, it's no surprise you had a great hunt. Hope to get back to see him soon myself! Congrats on the hunt and your pig!

Thanks Big Chief !
I hunt them on the encounter or finding tracks and searching in the Forest . When we hear them , we try to see them behind the leaves and greenery . It's not easy , they smelt us before we see them , very often
Sorry fo my bad english , I'm french
Philippe

Your English is great, no need for apologies.
You obviously have great hunting skills.
We usually hunt our pigs in Texas over bait like I did in South Africa but some people use dogs to trail them. Good hunting & Be safe!

Wow! I can imagine how much heart she had to of had to go after those pigs in that dense bush. R.I.P. girl

Yes , she had found this one in the forest with the blood . A very good girl . When she barked in the forest , I knew she was with the animal .

@Big Chief

In Gabon , I have four rifled weapons and two shotguns barrels .
My rifled weapon are
1 x Joseph Winkler 500 nitro
1 x Winchester Mod 70 458 Win
1 x Ernest Dumoulin 375 HH
1 x Heckler & Koch 7x64 mm

During one period , I'm going in the forest with the 458 with the first cartridge in the barrel a half-amoured (semi-blindée in french) , the 2 others amoured (blindée in french) . Because you don't know what you can find first : buffalo , duiker , bushpig , elephant , hangry elephant , wounded elephant .
The half-amoured can be used on the three first and when you found one of the last three , you push outside the half-amoured and you can reflect .
This one , I shoot him with the 458 , cartridge half-amoured .

Since 3 years we can't go hunting with cartridge up to 8mm .

I hope you have understood my explanations

Philippe

Taken in the Limpopo Province.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
