A book that I recently bought. I look for it for a long time because I had the opportunity to hunt in Southeast Asia several times.

The written note is interesting:

"Officer's Mess, 1 Batt, 24th Regt, The South Wales Borderers. India 13 aug 1900"

The handwriting... wow... such beauty and precision.

That would be a cool book, I saw it once before, nice Gaur on the cover to .

I just got a set of Gaur horns, unfortunately the skull was cut !

I have often dreamed of hunting for Gaur, unfortunately something like that is no longer possible nowadays.

I once followed the trail of a Gaur in Malaysia. We wanted to hunt water buffalo, problem animals, but the locals gave incorrect information about the species. The tracks and also the terrain were not comparable to those of a water buffalo. We noticed this very early on, but we continued to follow the track out of interest and then we spotted a younger Gaur bull.

The story of the first Batt of the 24th Regt of The South Wales Borderer is also interesting. They were first stationed in Peshawar and then in Lahore, but the unit was also active in the Boer War. Despite the fact that I am coming from a German-culture area and therefore Boer-friendly, I find this kind of story very interesting.
