When my PH offered me the opportunity to incorporate a cow buff hunt into my hunting trip to South Africa, I told him to give me 24 hours. In that 24 hours I scoured the internet, and this site, for information about what hunting cows was like. I spent a lot of time on this thread, looking over the photos others have shared, and asking myself if I could be happy a cow. The answer was an emphatic "YES!" Now, after the fact, I can say my 'yes' is every bit as strong, and I am a very happy hunter to have had the opportunity.

Oh yes. Very similar to hunting for a buffalo bull, but a lot less pricey. These two pictures are from April, 2024. The second photo should have a word balloon above it saying, "One of us is fixin' to have a very bad day."

I recently ran out of change for a daggaboy:rolleyes: and have to say that they are just as good, if not better, more attentive, more shy and,if necessary, more aggressive than the old guys.

I hunted with @BAYLY SIPPEL SAFARIS this year for 3 buffalo cows on a government reserve. It was 5 great days of hunting topped off with great cooking by Tucker, aptly named, the chef.
The hunting was exciting and up close. When you can smell the buffalo you know you are on their doorstep !

Many hours of tracking, doubled over, in the bush following Eric the tracker. To have sat on my hunkers watching the saliva drooling from a cows mouth glinting in the morning sunshine mere yards away from me is a lifelong memory. Excellent value all things considered.

Was it difficult to pass ?

That's what happens when reading glasses were not used. Once I caught the mistake I couldn't change it. :ROFLMAO:

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
