Yes, you are right. I used 9,3x62 and also 375 H&H. I never lost any bear with 9,3x62. Now I’m using Norna Vulkan 15g for red stag, brown bear and wild boars. I never had any issues. Gun is not kicking, jumping, and the groups at 100m are under 1 MOA.Having done a fair bit of bear hunting, I lean to bigger bullets at modest velocity. I would think that a 9.3x62 would be perfect for a bear/stag hunt with 8x68 a sensible minimum. Personal experience causes me to lean away from the 30’s, but they will certainly do the job.
