I have just purchased a mint condition zkk601 in 308, have only see the pics so far and should have it early next week in hand. It should go nicely with the Brno Fox .22hornet, ZG47 in 9.3x62, 1956 and the ZKK602 in 416 Rigby from 1972,

Great rifle. Also fitted with the correct rear fold down sight when the pop up is used

It's in near new condition, the guy who is selling, imports various arms into the the country.

Very nice!

Hi Warren,

GREAT ZKK!!! From the best period of the serie, pre-68...! Congratulations!!
I have the same rifle but from 1977, one of the last with the peep sight and front sling swivel on a barrel band. But the fit and finish has nothing to do with the other BRNO I have, a ZKK 600 9,3x62, marked 1967, like yours

Nice find.

I just found a ZKK 601 in .223, but it has a broken stock. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement?

Bell & Carlson make Kevlar stocks for the ZKK, but some hand fitting and bedding will be necessary to make it perfect.

As @mdwest stated, Boyd’s is also a solid choice.

Minor fitting for each of them but you can have a gunsmith do this along with the bedding for a reasonable price.

Thank you. I checked them, and may end up going with one of theirs. Have you used them, how do they look, and how much "hand" fitting is needed?

They’re about as close to drop in as you’ll find.. I’ve used several Boyd’s on various Mauser builds over the years… they’ve all worked out well…

I only wish Boyds offered a more traditional styling. I'm not wild about their stock shapes. I've heard a CZ550 can be made to fit the ZKK-600s, but sadly that wouldn't help with the 601s.

What about Stockys? OR whatever they call themselves, these days?

Yes, there are 1 or two others that I am looking at as well, but a 67 Brno in that condition is a rear find so snapped it up quickly.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
