Hi all, I have seen on some RSA outfitter's sites fairly strict requirements to hunt Cape Buffalo, such as minimum draw weight (80 lb), arrow total weight (700 gr), point weight (200 gr), and kinetic energy (80 ft/lb). Are these national, provincial, or outfitter requirements?

80lbs will get you where u need to be with good arrow weight for enough energy and good penetration

I was just curious. I know that compound bow technology has come a long way since Ashby's study. Similar results can be achieved at much lower poundage with today's bows. I don't know that I'll ever be able to bowhunt cape buffalo. I'm a wimp and doubt I'll ever draw back an 80 lb bow. I did share this thread on a couple other sites for you, though. I'm excited to hear about the hunt afterwards.
