After 3 trips to Africa I can say you need to book your hunts direct with the outfitter in Africa unless you want some Parisite to increase your costs a bunch and screw up your hunt by worrying mostly about getting the most for himself out of the deal. If you want to bow hunt then South Africa is probably the best but for rifle hunting Namibia is generaly better if you don't mind some work . If you don't want to walk then South Africa is good for rifle hunting also. Just do some research but I have found the outfitters to be very honest but not so for these agents that are trying to book hunts. Some are just down right crooks! Hope this helps someone---Greg---gmorton1@xplornet.com

Fairly intense response.

Any back up details for the sense of frustration?

Just that 100% of the time I have used booking agents or people I know have it has cost more and been more confusing and frustrating. These outfitters that come to shows over here and even if they do not you can do some research and with e-mails have all the details recorded with no confusion and I have found you get what they agree on plus more. Figure out what type of hunt you want and just book and go!

Thanks.

You have any hunt reports you want to share??? Pictures, more pictures of your trophies.
Lead the way..... :)

I have never had a problem with an outfitter,or the quality or amount of game just the agents that are trying to get in on the action. Africa is the greatest place on earth to hunt!!!!!!!

The best advice is to know who your are dealing with. Every situation is different as I assist with booking/advertising and am a company employee. I do not receive any cuts or deals and there is no increase in the cost associated with my assistance.

It's unfortunate for those of you that are straight shooters---I have managed to get into the box of bad apples. Africa is fantastic!

I have done it both ways, and have no complaint.

A good reputable booking agent can be very helpful and does not have to increase your costs.

You may find crooks and incompetents all along the spectrum in the hunting industry, not only the booking agents.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
