I'm interested in Blouberg NR and Kruger APNR as buffalo hunting areas. Has anyone here hunted in both of these regions and can share their experiences? I assume that hunting in Blouberg NR is more diverse in terms of landscape and, due to the dense (?) vegetation, more challenging (i.e., more difficult) than in the PNR adjacent to Kruger. A tented, rustic camp would be my preference. Thanks for your response!

I wouldn’t assume that Blouberg would be thicker and more challenging. The APNR is likely just as dense. Something special about hunting within Krugers extended borders, I’d go with the APNR

Why such a specific request? There a a number of fenced reserves that can be hunted. I personally think an APNR hunt offers something few areas do. You have an opportunity to look over a huge number of buffalo with very impressive genetics and select a 12+ year old bull and hunt an area with the complete big 5 present. Hunting buffalo hunted by lions is an important factor in the trophy to me.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
