Blood Lions: Blowing The Lid Off The Canned Hunting Industry

Bill,PHASA chairman and Adri Kristoff were there too,so were a few big wigs in the SA hunting industry. No doubt why PHASA is relooking their stand on this. This documentary is going to be a global blow to us,like it don't like it but it is going to change the way things are done. In the end it will be the wild lion that will suffer, the demand for lion bone won't stop. Neither will the hunting of the big cats, more loop holes will be found by those that seek money more than the chase.

I agree it is just a shame some want to give in to save themselves not defend the group of outfitters. Once we lose this fight more will come fast and then all the guys will be looking for support to help what they want to fight for. This going to turn into divide we fall kind of deal.

GOOD BYE to a whole lot of wild lions in S A . Won't have any ones for the tourist to take pictures of...IF THEY FOLD.
The Chinese and Vietmanese and all Asia wants lion bones and they have more money than Africa has....
They will pay the price the poachers will not pass up.
If they do FOLD, it will chime the bell for the hunting industry to FAIL.
BTW Next it WILL BEa film on ....No baiting of wild lions or leopards it's entrapment or dogs it's nor fair and it's cruel...
Then on to the next species

YouTube trailer.....

I am always so torn on this one. I completely agree, there would be many thousands less lions in the world without private land lion hunting, lions that Africa just can not do without just now. But when so many South African hunting outfits, legitimate, good outfit, speak with derision of it . . .
I know not every lion hunt is truly "canned" or "put and take" or however you want to put it and I don't wish ill of any hunter who partakes. But damn, no easy answers in this day and age.

Really glad Cecil was shot , personally it worked in OUR favor..even of you disagree. He got the press they would have here in the states.....Cecil really blew there press here....He overtook all the PR and that PR will fade. Everyone here knows cecil but blood lions took a back row seat in the states....

That's a really good point Dennis.

As much as we are complaining about the lack of a cohesive PR plan for our side (and I agree we don't have one) the antis don't have a great one either. They ended up focusing so hard on one animal that they have perhaps missed a great opportunity to use that cat to spread their broader message, at least specific to lion hunting. Instead they've alienated some folks that they might have converted to their side with a better message.

This is really a small battle in a very on war and both sides forget that and think that instant victory or defeat can be achieved. It ain't gonna happen that way.

Not that I want to move this thread to the top. But if they want to make a real movie
Why not make a film on how people could turn back the clock and have a wild population of tigers in India? or lets turn the clock back and get the wild lion population back to where it was 75 to 100 years ago.....because then the movie would be fictional, because it would never ever happen............
This "blood lion" movie is just another hate film.....garbage.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
