I’m headed to Africa the end of July and would like to have a 375 H&H barrel set for my Blaser S2 double rifle. Anyone have one that they would sell. I. Currently have a 470 Nitro Express and I’ll use it but it kicks like a mule.
I won’t be selling. Just want a 375 if I can find one.If you decide to sell your 470 barrel let me know. I could be interested in it.
Thank you.I seen an amazing Blaser S2 375 h&h at Hendershot’s the other day. Highly engraved with super nice wood. Not sure where you are located, but Lance takes it in trades.
Thank you. I have messaged them as it’s not listed on the web.
Well said. Everything is very difficult with S2. Some people hate him, others adore him. Those who hated him sold him long ago. And the happy owners are in no hurry to part with this weapon.Everyone I know who has the Blaser S2 in 375H&H is taking it to the grave because they love them so much.
Thanks Bryan I have seen that listing as well as the listing for the 2 barrel set in 9.3x74R and 30-06 cape rifle barrels. I'm in the early stages of looking and need to decide what my caliber preference really is. My main use is Euro driven boar. I have a nice Chapuis double in 30-06. One feature I really like on the Blaser S2 is the ability to go from open sights, to red dot or to a scope, all possible in a few seconds while holding zero. This gives great options. The 9.3x74R is extremely popular in Europe for boar, I've been shooting Euro boar with .308 to date not sure if I really need 9.3x74R or not, maybe I would be better off with a 30-06 Blaser S2. On the other hand a 9.3x74R could always get some use on other trips for larger game, too many decisions. There is a complete S2 in 30-06 on GB for $8500. I have no connection to the seller but the gun has been listed for awhile.
For non dangerous game, it's fine. For anything that bites back, not so fine. The lump right over the barrels isn't condusive to quick reloading, and the gun (unlike anything else Blaser makes) doesn't recock automatically after reloading, so you have to push the cocker/safety forward each time. I currently own two Blaser rifles, and prefer them (R93's) over any other bolt, but I wouldn't go for the S2.
