I’m headed to Africa the end of July and would like to have a 375 H&H barrel set for my Blaser S2 double rifle. Anyone have one that they would sell. I. Currently have a 470 Nitro Express and I’ll use it but it kicks like a mule.

Everyone I know who has the Blaser S2 in 375H&H is taking it to the grave because they love them so much.

Best of luck with your search.

If you decide to sell your 470 barrel let me know. I could be interested in it.
I won’t be selling. Just want a 375 if I can find one.

Finding S2 barrels is not easy. Usually a complete gun has to be bought and it might have an extra set. I would love to find a smaller caliber to go with my S2 in 470.

I agree. Finding any barrels is not easy. I too would like to add to my assortment with something close to a 30-06 or 7 mag. The 470 NE is a great round but the so is a 375 and half the kick. What do you shoot and how is its recoil.

There have been 2 options online with GB and GI for awhile. There is a complete 30-06 on GB...and a strange 9.3 on GI that has a 2nd set, which is shotgun and rifle like a cape gun set of barrels.

There was a complete 30-06 S2 at Cabelas in Ft Worth last year that I almost bought. I've also asked around with some of the bigger online dealers and they rarely see barrel sets for sale.

Well said. Everything is very difficult with S2. Some people hate him, others adore him. Those who hated him sold him long ago. And the happy owners are in no hurry to part with this weapon.

I'm thinking about buying a Blaser S2 in a non dangerous game caliber, 30-06, 8x57JRS or 9.3x74R. I appreciate that it's a non traditional double but personally I like the positives of the quality, accuracy, auto safe, adjustable barrels, Blaser scope mount system. If anyone is looking to sell a mid caliber version of an Blaser S2 please message me.

There is a complete S2 in 30-06 on GB for $8500. I have no connection to the seller but the gun has been listed for awhile.

Thanks Bryan I have seen that listing as well as the listing for the 2 barrel set in 9.3x74R and 30-06 cape rifle barrels. I'm in the early stages of looking and need to decide what my caliber preference really is. My main use is Euro driven boar. I have a nice Chapuis double in 30-06. One feature I really like on the Blaser S2 is the ability to go from open sights, to red dot or to a scope, all possible in a few seconds while holding zero. This gives great options. The 9.3x74R is extremely popular in Europe for boar, I've been shooting Euro boar with .308 to date not sure if I really need 9.3x74R or not, maybe I would be better off with a 30-06 Blaser S2. On the other hand a 9.3x74R could always get some use on other trips for larger game, too many decisions.

For non dangerous game, it's fine. For anything that bites back, not so fine. The lump right over the barrels isn't condusive to quick reloading, and the gun (unlike anything else Blaser makes) doesn't recock automatically after reloading, so you have to push the cocker/safety forward each time. I currently own two Blaser rifles, and prefer them (R93's) over any other bolt, but I wouldn't go for the S2. The over under rifle is nice, and I've heard good things about the D99 - I just prefer to have a 12 ga. gun so I haven't gone for that one. The over under gun is a bit more versatile too, since you can get a cape gun set of spare barrels.

However, the S2 Safari is a very accurate rifle. And she's well-shot from the start. The owner usually does not have to adjust it. And this is a very important point. It often happens that a person buys a double rifle, and then cannot set it up for a long time, spends money and gets nervous.

When I first fired my S2 in caliber .470 NE, I was surprised that the bullet holes were located 4 centimeters apart. The distance to the target was 50 meters. This is just a great result, which was shown by Hornady cartridges. There are also good results when firing Federal cartridges. I have no complaints about the accuracy of this double rifle. And I am confident in her reliability.

Yes, there were things that really confused me from the very beginning. This is a protrusion above the barrels, and the lack of automatic cocking after reloading, and more. But I've come to terms with it. Sometimes you have to sacrifice something. There is no such thing as a perfect weapon. Or it costs a lot of money.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
